This policy sets out the terms and conditions applicable to product returns, the legal right of withdrawal, and the commercial return extension offered by VALTA.
It applies without prejudice to the mandatory legal warranties and rights granted to consumers.
2. Legal Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with the applicable provisions of the French Consumer Code, consumers who enter into a distance contract generally have a period of 14 calendar days to exercise their right of withdrawal without having to provide any justification.
For the sale of goods, this period begins from the date on which the consumer, or a third party designated by the consumer other than the carrier, receives the product.
Where several products from the same order are delivered separately, the withdrawal period is determined in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
The right of withdrawal applies only where the situation does not fall under one of the legal exclusions provided for by law.
3. Commercial Return Extension
In addition to the legal withdrawal period, VALTA grants a commercial extension allowing returns up to 30 working days from receipt of the product, where this possibility applies to the product concerned.
This extension constitutes a commercial benefit granted by VALTA.
It does not reduce, replace, or modify in any way the consumer’s statutory rights.
4. How to Exercise the Right of Withdrawal
The consumer must notify their decision to withdraw before the expiry of the applicable withdrawal period.
The request may be sent by email to:
The customer may use any declaration clearly and unambiguously expressing their wish to withdraw from the contract.
To facilitate processing of the request, customers are advised to provide:
-
Customer’s first and last name;
-
Order number;
-
Product concerned;
-
Date of receipt;
-
Contact details required to arrange the return.
The customer is not required to provide reasons for their decision when exercising the legal right of withdrawal.
Upon receipt of the request, VALTA will provide the customer with the logistical information required to arrange the return.
Following this procedure facilitates transport organisation, particularly for large products, but does not deprive the consumer of their legal right where the withdrawal has been validly notified within the required timeframe.
5. Product Return Period
After notifying their decision to withdraw, the consumer must return or ship the product within the period required by the applicable regulations.
Due to the nature and dimensions of the trailers and horse vans marketed by Valta Trailers, returns generally require specialised road transport.
Customers are therefore invited to contact VALTA before arranging any shipment in order to organise or coordinate the logistical arrangements for the return.
6. Condition of the Returned Product
The product must be returned in a condition allowing its identification and inspection.
In particular, it must be:
-
Complete;
-
Accompanied by all accessories and equipment supplied at the time of delivery;
-
Properly protected during transport;
-
Free from modifications or alterations not required for inspection purposes.
The consumer is entitled to handle the product only to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and proper functioning.
In accordance with the French Consumer Code, the consumer may be held liable for any depreciation resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify the product.
Any depreciation must be objectively justified and proportionate to the condition observed upon return.
